is on as six American League teams fight for the final three playoff spots. As
we enter the last week of the regular season only two teams have secured
playoff spots in the American League leaving three spots still up for grabs.
The Baltimore Orioles have secured the American League East while the Los
Angeles Angels have won the American League West title. The Angels currently
lead the Orioles by three games for home field advantage throughout the
American League playoffs. In The Latest Sports News the reporter said that the only division awaiting a champion in the American League
is in the Central division as the Detroit Tigers hold a 1.5 game lead over the
Kansas City Royals. Each team has at least seven games to play over the next
week. As far as the American League Wild Card spots the Oakland A’s and Kansas
City Royals hold a 1.5 game lead over the Seattle Mariners. If the season would
end today the A’s would play the Royals in a one game playoff to determine who
would play the Angels.
